The plant, equipped with innovative technologies, will prepare future engineering professionals to manage and optimise complex industrial processes

Thanks to this initiative, the university will have the latest technologies to train students of its Faculty of Engineering in the tools and systems used in industry today. The industrial plant, located in the laboratory area, allows practical work with professional equipment and trains students in the technologies they will find in the workplace tomorrow.

The University of Deusto entrusted MIESA with this ambitious project as a leading engineering company with extensive experience in developing industrial plants for sectors such as oil & gas, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, paper, food, energy and the environment.

Experiencing real industrial processes

The industrial plant designed by MIESA emulates the operation of petrochemical plants in treatment systems. It is equipped with dozens of sensors and multiple pumps that generate large volumes of data, enabling precise monitoring and control and the development of industrial data processing algorithms and artificial intelligence (AI) applications.

Operating conditions such as pH, viscosity, temperature, pressure and flow are also fully adjustable, offering a highly flexible environment for research and process optimisation.

The facility will also be used to teach industrial safety: by simulating potentially hazardous processes, students will be able to identify risks and apply the necessary safety measures.

Highly qualified students

Installing this industrial training rig at the University of Deusto provides a realistic environment where students can apply the theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom and experience first-hand how industrial systems behave under different operating conditions.

In addition, working with automation and control components such as PLCs, sensors and actuators, which are in high demand on the job market, will help them develop key technical skills for their future careers.

At MIESA we work with different educational institutions to train the next generations of engineers, so that they can design and take part in safer and more efficient industrial environments
