We use Siemens SIMIT as a key tool in our engineering projects, especially PCS 7 projects, to create virtual environments that replicate the real behaviour of the plant.
- Validate the control logic without physical equipment
- Reduce commissioning time and costs
- Detect errors and improve software quality before deployment
- Run operator training and failure scenarios without real risk
How we apply it in our projects
While the control system is being developed, we create a virtual model of the process that reproduces the real behaviour of each item of equipment: valves, pumps, instruments, control loops, alarms and sequences. This environment is connected directly to the DCS program (PCS 7 or PCS neo) to validate the control logic, communications and dynamic response of the system in real time.
Our customers can therefore test and debug the complete system before the plant is operational. The model is also used as an OTS (Operator Training System) to train operators in a safe, realistic environment before commissioning.
Fewer errors, lower costs, better results from day one.
Validation process with SIMIT
- 01
Process modelling
We digitally recreate all the equipment: valves, pumps, sensors, control loops and alarms.
- 02
Integration with the DCS
We connect the model to the control system (PCS 7 / PCS neo) to validate logic, communications and responses in real time.
- 03
Validation tests
We simulate sequences, force states and fine-tune behaviour without any risk to the real plant.
- 04
Operator training (OTS)
A realistic training environment to train operators before commissioning.
More possibilities
With SIRIUS Sim we simulate 3SK2 safety relays and 3RW55 soft starters, so applications can be tested quickly and easily before they reach the field.
Simulation is also applied when replacing existing systems: control system modernisation and migration →
