MIESA at Repsol’s largest refinery in Peru

MIESA at Repsol’s largest refinery in Peru

Repsol Peru was undertaking a major project to produce low-sulphur fuels at its La Pampilla refinery (El Callao) with two clear objectives: to improve fuel quality and to reduce its environmental impact.

To achieve this, it had to adapt its facilities to the specifications required by the units producing this type of fuel.

MIESA was the engineering company selected to carry out this important task.

Custom analyser systems

At MIESA we handled the calculation, design, installation and commissioning of the process analysis systems based on chromatography, UV analysers and other technologies on the new low-sulphur fuel lines.

The biggest challenge was to achieve accurate, repeatable measurement to guarantee optimal process results. Thanks to our extensive experience in the Oil & Gas industry, we responded successfully and in line with the strict standards of the Repsol group, in less time than scheduled.

Specifically, 2 analyser shelters were built with all their safety systems, totalling 15 analyser systems. This required the prior documentation and design processes, as well as the subsequent testing of all the analyser systems.

A 100% MIESA project

It is worth highlighting that this project was carried out entirely by MIESA staff. This strategic decision allowed us to keep full control over the process, avoid external dependencies and guarantee that the agreed deadlines were met.

Our ability to design and implement tailored process analysis solutions makes us a strategic partner for companies seeking to optimise their operations and reduce their environmental impact.
